Neurofeedback Therapy

Neurofeedback Therapy in Dubai

What is Neurofeedback?

Technically, therefore, neurofeedback or EEG biofeedback is a treatment that acts on brain waves to allow the person to be aware of their brain activity and modify it. Starting from an electroencephalographic record (EEG), the Neurofeedback devices extract a series of parameters. The series of parameters will be used to evaluate the bioelectric function, transforming the analog signal (the classic EEG that we all know) into data whose modification we can program.

How Neurofeedback Therapy work?

It happens that neurons create electrical currents when they communicate with each other, and these currents can be recorded through an electroencephalogram. In addition to this, neurofeedback converts the brain waves into visual or auditory information, so that the patient can easily understand how his brain is working.

These ranges range from smallest (Delta waves) to largest (Beta waves). The lower brain activity predominates in sleep cycles, while the highest activity occurs in alert states. So, through this treatment, it is sought that all areas of the brain function in a balanced way, making each wave range predominate at the right time.

When talking about “rewarding” the patient, it means that he can achieve certain objectives reflected on the work screen. For example, making a car reaches its finish line or getting a movie to run without interruptions so that the better the brain is functioning, the faster these results are obtained. The brain learns to function because when we do something that involves a prize, the likelihood of this behaviour is repeated.

The effectiveness of Neurofeedback lies in achieving synchrony between different parts of the brain and that neurons function at adequate speeds while preventing this vital organ from losing the ability to communicate efficiently, giving way to difficulties.

Is Neurofeedback therapy treatment new?

Neurofeedback therapy treatment is not a recent treatment, it began to be studied in the 60s, and its first publications are made at the end of that decade, the leading countries in the technique are the United States and Germany, Dubai, and Colombia arrived more than ten years ago.

Nor is it recommended as the first treatment option when it is identified that the causes of the difficulties are more deeply rooted emotionally.
